Admittance to Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm is subject to the following conditions. If you do not comply with them you may be asked to leave by a member staff, without any right to a refund. This is without prejudice to any claim that we may have against you or arising out of your actions. Whilst visiting the Butterfly Farm, you must comply with any reasonable instructions given to you by a member of Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm staff.
Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm is a controlled tropical, humid, environment, operating at temperatures above 25 degrees.
No persons should enter the Butterfly Farm if they are feeling unwell in any way. No persons should enter the Butterfly Farm if they are displaying any of the three symptoms of COVID-19: a new continuous cough, a high temperature, a loss or change of sense of smell or taste. If you are displaying any of these symptoms you will not be admitted to the Butterfly Farm.
It is compulsory to wear a face covering at Stratford Butterfly Farm. This includes children aged 11 years and over. If you are not wearing a face covering and not exempt from wearing one then you will not gain entrance to the Butterfly Farm and will not be refunded your ticket. You may be fined by the police for not wearing a face covering. It is advisable that if you are exempt to carry an exemption card.
As legally required Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm will prominently display the NHS Test and Trace QR code at the entrance to the giftshop for visitors to check in.
All visitors over the age of 16 must provide contact details for NHS Test and Trace by scanning the NHS QR code on arrival at the butterfly farm.
Unfortunately, any persons that refuses to provide NHS Test and Trace contact information will be refused entrance unless they are exempt*. If in the rare instance a visitor becomes unruly the security procedure will be followed and the police may be called.
*Adults that do not have the mental capacity to provide contact details are exempt from providing NHS Test and Trace information.
Any visitors over the age of 16, that are unable to scan the code need to provide their full name and contact number to the queue marshal to enter in the logbook. If the person does not have a phone number they may leave an email address, if they do not have an email address they may leave their house number and post code.
The logbook will be kept secure at all times and stored in line with GDPR. The data collected will only be used for NHS Test and Trace and for no other purpose. The data will be handed over immediately if requested by NHS Test and Trace or destroyed after 21 days if not requested.

On entering the Butterfly Farm, you accept that you have a duty of responsibility to ensure your own safety and taking into account any personal medical conditions. All persons inside the Butterfly Farm and its surrounding gardens should behave in a safe manner at all times. All persons inside the Butterfly Farm are responsible for their own safe social distancing in line with COVID-19 government regulation as well as regular hand sanitisation.
For health and safety purposes, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, prams and buggies are the only transport device allowed inside the Butterfly Farm. Please ask reception staff for advice on where to leave children’s bikes and scooters as they are not allowed inside the Butterfly Farm.
You are politely asked not to bring inflated balloons (they will burst) or bubbles (the liquid will harm our plants and creatures) into the Butterfly Farm.
Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a person of 18 years or over. Children must be supervised at all times and not left unattended.
Commitment to providing a service:
The Butterfly Farm will endeavour to ensure that as many displays as possible are available to visitors. Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm at its absolute discretion reserves the right to close any area of the Butterfly Farm & Wildflower Gardens at any time. The reason for any closure or restriction may include technical or maintenance reasons, capacity or inclement weather.
Bookings & Admissions
It is a legal requirement that Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm requests NHS Test and Trace information from all visitors over the age of 16 unless they are exempt. Visitors can check-in with the NHS Test and Trace App by scanning the NHS QR Code on arrival or by providing the queue marshal with contact information for the logbook. By purchasing a ticket, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions and to provide NHS Test & Trace contact details.
Any persons refusing to provide NHS Test and Trace contact details or any persons displaying abuse towards any other persons will be refused entry without the right to a refund if tickets have been pre-purchased.
Tickets are bookable online up until 9.30AM on the day of a visit. You must turn up at your chosen time to guarantee entrance. If you arrive early you may be asked to wait. If you arrive late you will be admitted at the next available space on the day.
Persons entering the Flight Area, Discovery Zone and Minibeast Metropolis must pay for admission or hold a valid ticket. Whilst COVID-19 restrictions are in place you will be unable to re-enter the Butterfly Farm on the day of your visit. Admission will be valid for 1 hour in which time you may go round the one-way system as many times as you like.
Whilst Stratford Butterfly Farm is operating at reduced capacity admissions will be monitored by a queue marshal to maintain safe social distancing. Entrance cannot be quaranteed without a pre-booked ticket. Pre-booked tickets may be subject to a delayed entrance if the queue marshal observes social distancing not being maintained.
All prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rates and are correct at the time of entering information onto the system. All cardholders may be subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to, or does not, for any reason, authorise payment to us, we will not be reliable for any delay or non-delivery. We do not accept payment by cheque or postal orders. Processing is reserved against your card at the time an order is placed.
Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm reserves the right to change prices without notice.
Admission for children under the age of three is free.
Original tickets only – photocopies etc. will not be accepted. Lost tickets cannot be replaced under any circumstances.
All tickets including those bought online and gift tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable, not for resale and will become automatically void on any transfer for value. Dates and times for tickets purchased online may be amended by the purchaser by creating an account or by contacting email@example.com.
Tickets purchased are only valid on the date printed on the ticket and are void on expiry.
Gift vouchers and season tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are void on expiry.
Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase unless in exceptional circumstances and agreed with the General Manager. Refund requests cannot be authorised over the phone and must be put in writing either by post or email. Contact details are at the top of this policy.
If Stratford Butterfly Farm has to close due to further lockdowns, admission ticket holders will be offered a full refund or an amended date of their choice. Season ticket holders and gift voucher recipients will automatically have their expiry dates extended for the amount of time of the closure.
Ticket holders of pre-purchased admissions that are unable to visit due to being unwell may amend the date of their booking by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
No admission is required to browse the Nature Inspired Gift Shop, entrance may be restricted whilst COVID-19 regulation is in place to ensure safe social distancing.
It is strictly forbidden to bring into the Butterfly Farm any offensive or dangerous weapons, fireworks, smoke bombs, glass bottles or other articles which may cause injury. The throwing of any article which could cause injury or affect the enjoyment of other guests is strictly prohibited. Any person found to be in possession of an article deemed offensive or dangerous will be immediately escorted from the Butterfly Farm without the right to a refund. Stratford-upon-Avon-Butterfly Farm reserves the right to report to the relevant authorities which may lead to prosecution.
The consumption of intoxicating liquor is not permitted in the Butterfly Farm. Persons found possessing alcohol, or who appear to be under the influence of alcohol may be refused entry to the Butterfly Farm or escorted from the Attraction without any right to a refund. The use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited, and any persons found possessing, using or who appear to be under the influence of illegal substances will be refused entry or escorted from the Butterfly Farm without the right to a refund.
Items, belongings, any other property and equipment being brought into the Butterfly Farm is at your own risk, this includes Blue Badge parking bays, the cloakroom (the cloakroom is unavailable whilst COVID-19 regulation is in place) and surrounding gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage to any such property. We therefore recommend that you do not bring valuables to the Butterfly Farm.
Any persons refusing to provide NHS Test and Trace contact details will not gain entrance and be asked to leave without the right to a refund. Any persons displaying abuse to any other persons within the Butterfly Farm will be asked to leave without the right to a refund. Any persons not observing safe social distancing will be asked to leave without the right to a refund.
Due to the nature of the environment inside the Butterfly Farm pets or animals of any nature are absolutely prohibited, including guide dogs, hearing dogs and registered assistance dogs. For more information on how to visit the Butterfly Farm if you have either a guide dog, hearing dog or registered assistance dog please refer to our access statement as there are provisions in place to support your visit to the Butterfly Farm.
Any animal should not be left in any vehicle parked at the Butterfly Farm. Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm reserves the right to contact any relevant authority to make and be responsible for any decision in relation to animals that are left unsupervised or are found to be in distress.
Guide dogs, hearing dogs and registered assistance dogs are welcome inside the Nature Inspired Gift Shop. Dogs on a lead are welcome in the Wildflower Gardens.
You are permitted to take photographs and recordings at Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm provided that these are solely for private use and are not sold or used for any commercial or public purpose unless permission has been given in writing by the Butterfly Farm. By accepting these conditions, you agree not to intentionally photograph or capture moving footage of any individual or individuals without the person's permission. Flash photography is forbidden in Minibeast Metropolis. Whist COVID-19 regulation is in place it is prohibited to bring in camera equipment. Only small cameras and phone cameras will be allowed to take snapshots.
