Christmas Time!

21 - 23 December and 27 December - 6 January - Meet the Minibeasts and Butterfly Lifecycle demonstrations will take place daily at 11AM in the Discovery Zone. 

Join our friendly team of Education Officers and get close to a variety of stick insects. Discover the amazing life-cycle of a butterfly at every stage from egg to adult.

In the rainforest Flight Area discover the beautiful, Papilio demodocus, also known as the Christmas Butterfly or the Citrus Swallowtail.

The Christmas Butterfly is native to Africa and parts of Asia. The ones you can see on the wing in the Flight Area arrive at the Butterfly Farm as pupae carefully sourced from Kipepeo Project

Adult butterflies have striking yellow and black markings with red and blue eyespots. They are known for their graceful flight in forests and gardens.

The Nature Inspired Gift Shop is the perfect place for stocking filler ideas for all budgets and all the family. 

You will find colourful, soft plush toy animals from The Gift Scholars, Nature Planet and Wild Republic, alongside FairTrade gifts from Sunlover, Shared Earth and Namaste.

The gift shop also stocks beautiful nature books for all ages and has introduced a range of delicious locally sourced honey from the bees at Holt Hall.

The Nature Inspired Gift Shop is open to the public and is free to enter. Paid admission required to enter the attraction.

The Butterfly Farm is open every day except Christmas Day over the Festive period, including Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
